LAHORE, Jan 10: The Rafi Peer Theatre Workshop is organizing a 10-day youth theatre festival, starting from Jan 19, on the theme of ‘Peace and Harmony’.

Students from 10 educational institutions, including Aitchison College, National College of Arts, the Punjab University, and GIK Institute of Science & Technology, will stage plays.

The festival, being organized at the Alhamra Cultural Complex, Qaddafi Stadium, will feature one theatre performance every day.

Its organizers told a news briefing on Thursday that the festival would close with performance by five or six rock bands comprising students of various schools and colleges on the 11th night of the event.

A mural exhibition on the theme of the festival is also being arranged on the sidelines of the main event. Fifteen schools have been invited to take part in the mural exhibition. A large mural will also be put up outside the venue of the event and the visitors will be asked to contribute to that painting.
