ISLAMABAD, June 18: Saudi Arabia has requested Pakistan to provide as many medical specialists, doctors, pathologists and nurses to the kingdom as it can spare, officials said. Deputy Health Minister of Saudi Arabia Dr Obeid Sulmain-ul-Obeid conveyed the request during a meeting with Federal Health Minister Mohammad Nasir at his office here on Saturday.

During the meeting, which was also attended by Secretary Health Syed Anwar Mehmood, the Saudi minister said that the kingdom needed Pakistani professionals for its hospitals.

Dr Obeid praised the professional competence and expertise of Pakistani doctors and paramedics. He said the Pakistani government should select professionals to be sent to Saudi Arabia.—APP
