Extremely heart wrenching and very painful news to read. This acid attack like others in Pakistan, must have been carried out to humiliate the victim by creating permenant scars physically and mentally both, by taking revenge for rejecting a proposal of marriage. The subcontinent including Pakistan suffers from gender inequality due to illiteracy and cultural taboos, considering these rejections as a matter of insult and ridicule, carry out such inhuman and brutal act of scarring face or even causing blindness of the victim. Therefore, police on the basis of such information from the girl or her mother, can easily trace these culprit who should be given maximum punishment as per law. My heartiest felt sympathies to the victim with prayers that they make a fast recovery from this physical as well as mental agony and that too without any permanent damage to their faces and eyes.
