THATTA, June 18: In pursuance of the outcome of an inquiry conducted by Sujawal TPO Mujahid Ali Shah, a murder case was registered against Soomar Chang for allegedly forcing his teenage daughter at gunpoint to take poison in Piyaro Chang village, near the coastal town of Chuhar Jamali. According to an FIR lodged on behalf of the state by Jati SHO Mushtaq Talpur, accused Soomar suspected that his daughter, Amina, 18, had illicit relations with a relative, Abdul Rehman.

Following an exchange of hot words, the accused forced his daughter at gunpoint to take pesticides, which he had brought with him, and misled his family into believing that she had committed suicide. Within a short period of time, he had the deceased girl buried in a nearby graveyard.

The next day, rumours spread that the accused had buried his daughter alive.

Taking notice of the matter, District Nazim Shafqat Hussain Shah asked the DPO to conduct an inquiry, for which, the Sujawal TPO was assigned.
