KARACHI: A member of the National Executive Committee of the Pan Africanist Congress of Azania (South Africa), Mr Ahmad Gora Ebrahim ... asked the Pakistan Government to check the activities of some South African students studying in Pakistan. He said that the students were working for the racist Government of South Africa and against the oppressed people of Azania who are struggling for independence.

Mr Ebrahim said the students were studying in various colleges and universities of Pakistan. They enter Pakistan under “various guises with the hope of implicating the people and Government of Pakistan” in their attempts to further the policies of the apartheid regime.

Mr Ebrahim, who is also Secretary of External Affairs of the Committee, said that he had informed the Pakistan Government officials of this during his meeting with them at Islamabad recently. He said his talks centred on the problems of the oppressed people of Azania and how best Pakistan could effectively assist the liberation struggle of the people of Southern Africa against imperialist and racist oppression.

Mr Ebrahim asked the Government to restrict the private visits of Pakistanis to South Africa. He charged that these visits were being sponsored by the South African Government’s National Indian Council. He said such visits were being used as propaganda against the freedom struggle.
