KARACHI, June 17: Navy who qualified for the semifinals and CDGK scored narrow victories to gain full points in the National Challenge Cup football on Friday. CDGK had to withstand a second half fight back by Mauripur Baloch before winning 3-2. Noor Ali (24th minute), Ziaur Rahman (58) and Noor Ali (63) set CDGK on road to what appeared to be an victory.

But a rousing late rally saw Wahid and Mahboob hit back with strikes in 68th and 80th minute to give their side chance of salvaging a draw.

But despite tremendous pressure in the closing minutes CDGK defence managed to prevent Mauripur Baloch from getting the equalizer.

Navy came back from a goal down to overcame SSGC 2-1 in the other match of the day to occupy top spot in group One having collected maximum nine points from three outings.

Atta Majid stunned Navy with a well-taken goal in the 30th minute. Nomi Martin levelled the score in the 47th minute and Zahir Ahmed snatched the match-winner in the 80th minute.
