TAXILA: Traffic on Taxila-Hattar Road remained stranded for several hours on Monday when family members of murder victim placed the body in the middle of the road to register their protest against alleged police negligence.

Syed Badshah, 35, a driver by profession and a native of Charsadda was shot dead by two persons in Wah Cantonment Police area over an old enmity.

Police shifted the body to THQ hospital Taxila for autopsy.

In his complaint to the police, the brother of the victim said he along with his other family members shifted from Charsadda and were running agri business in Samoon area.

His brother Syed Badshah was coming home on his tractor after his work in nearby fields when two persons of his native village intercepted him near Mallpur chowk and showered him with bullets.

Talking to newsmen, Syed Badshah’s brother said soon after the murder of his brother, he immediately informed the police about the whereabouts of the killers but police took no action to arrest them.

He alleged that the police officials did not cooperate in arresting the suspects.

“We have no option but to register our protest against the police negligence,” said a relative of the deceased.

Later, senior police officers and local social and political personalities convinced the protesters into disbursing peacefully .
