They added that two suspects riding a motorbike were fleeing after committing a robbery at a medical store when a police party involved in snap checking on Salimuzzaman Siddiqi Road, popularly known as Suparco Road, motioned them to stop. Instead, they accelerated its speed and resorted to firing, which was returned by the police, resulting in bullet injuries to one suspect. His accomplice escaped.

The wounded suspect, identified as Liaquat Khaskheli, was taken to the JPMC, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, said Malir SSP Sheeraz Nazeer.

The police claimed to have recovered Rs100,000 and a motorbike from his custody.
