RECENTLY, my daughter started going to a leading private school in Lahore. Like every parent, I want my daughter to get the best possible education. However, the most imperative barrier to this is the hefty tuition fee charged by private schools.

It is difficult to comprehend why these private schools charge a monthly tuition fee of Rs 25,000 for a child attending playgroup.

Given the dismal state of government schools in Lahore, private schools are doing a good job. However, I implore that they make quality education accessible a little less costly.

I hope that these schools will think beyond the realms of accumulating wealth.
