HARIPUR: A teenage boy committed suicide over a minor dispute with his mother in a remote village of Ghazi tehsil on Saturday.

Police quoted the mother of Basit Ali, 18, of Mohallah Khalifa Abad of Pipliyala village, as saying that her son was jobless.

She said since he was not taking interest in household matters she scolded him on Saturday afternoon. Ali got angry and went into his room after exchanging harsh words with her, she added.

After a few seconds she heard a gunshot and when she reached Ali’s room he was bleeding in the head, the woman told police.

He was shifted to the tehsil headquarters hospital, Ghazi, but the doctors pronounced him dead, the complainant told the police.
