PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa health department has notified the appointment of new members to the boards of governors of the province’s medical teaching institutions on the recommendation of the search and nomination council.

In June, the health department had de-notified the boards of governors of the medical teaching institutions and appointed interim boards on the directives of the Supreme Court. The court had ordered the appointment of new BoGs after installation of the new government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the health department’s notification, the new BoGs included both new and previous board members, while few have been re-shuffled among MTIs.

The board for the Lady Reading Hospital consists of Prof Nausherwan Burki, retired Justice Mian Ajmal, Shamsul Qayyum, Dr Shahnaz Nawaz, Prof Ghulam Siddiqui and Khalid Sultan Khwaja, while Dr Faisal Sultan, Dr Mian Tahir Ali Shah, Dr Nadeem Alam, Dr Shah Jehan, Mohammad Mohsin, Prof Waheed Sahibzada and Jan Ali have been made members of the board for the Khyber Teaching Hospital, Peshawar.

The members of the BoG for Hayatabad medical Complex, Peshawar, include Sahibzada Saeed, Dr Robina Nauman Gilani, Tajul Haq, Rashid A Khan, Dr Jehanzeb, Dr Khalid Khan and Syed Khaziq Ali Shah, while Prof Abdul Bari Khan, retired Justice Hameed Farooq Durrani, Dr Mehar Bano, Dr Hameed Afridi, Dr Shafqat Hassan, Dr Asif Loya and Prof Masood Sadiq are part of the BoG for the Institute of Cardiology, Peshawar.

Junaid Mushtaq Qureshi, Dr Mohammad Asim Yousaf, Mohammad Siraj, Dr Ejaz A Khan, Amir Mahmood and Amjad Fahim have been named BoG members for the Ayub Medical Complex, Abbottabad, and Rahimullah Yusufzai, Dr Syed Fazli Hadi, Attaullah Khan, Tahir Ali Khan, Muhammad Hamayun Mohmand and Dr Shahid Khattak for the Mardan Medical Complex, Mardan.

Dr Shimal Khan, Qazi Ziaur Rehman Advocate, Arshad Utrana, Asghar Kundi and Dr Asmatullah will be BoG members for Dera Ismail Khan, Dr Farid Anwar, Dr Abdul Majeed Khan, Dr Muhammad Azim, Amir Zeenat Shah and Nisar Khan for Bannu, and Dr Shabina, Sanaullah Khan, Mohammad Arifeen, Dr Nasir Idrees and Malik Riaz Awan for Nowshera.
