KHAR: One person was killed and four others were wounded when wall of a house collapsed in Nawagai town of Bajaur tribal district on Thursday, according to residents and local administration officials.

They said that the incident took place at around 8am in hilly Mamazo area. They said that the family of Gulam Ameer, a resident of the area, was inside the home for a breakfast when a wall suddenly fell on them.

The neighbouring people reached the house after they heard the sound of wall collapse and retrieved the victims from the rubble. Later, the injured were taken to the tehsil headquarters hospital, Nawagai, where one of them succumbed to his wounds.

The local administration confirmed the incident and said that all the victims belonged to the same family.

Meanwhile, several people were wounded during a clash between two rival groups in Mamond tehsil over land dispute, officials said on Thursday. They said that four women were also among the injured.

They said that the incident occurred in Thangi area where two rival groups of Gulam Mohammad and Abdul Jabbar attacked each others with sticks and stones after exchange of harsh words.

They said that at least seven people from both sides were wounded in the clash. Dr Mohammad Noor said that three wounded persons had been referred to a hospital in Peshawar due to their precious condition.
