LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Dr Shahzad Waseem on Wednesday submitted his party ticket to the returning officer at the Punjab Election Commission office for the Senate by-election.

The Senate seat in Punjab was vacated by Chaudhry Sarwar, whom prime minister nominated as Punjab Governor.

Dr Waseem was an adviser to party chairman Imran as well as central secretary for foreign affairs. He was also a PTI core committee member.

Dr Waseem held meetings with Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, Governor Chaudhry Sarwar, senior minister Aleem Khan, Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and discussed the by-election strategy.
