LAHORE: The PML-N has filed a resolution in the Punjab Assembly demanding withdrawal of increase in gas tariff forthwith as the PTI government’s anti-people decision will result in inflation and price hike.

Opposition Leader Hamza Shahbaz submitted the resolution to the assembly on Tuesday.

It said up to 145pc increase in the gas tariff had exposed the tall claims of Prime Minister Imran Khan and his government.

“Instead of giving relief to the people, the government has made a cruel increase in gas tariff that will result in price hike and inflation. We condemn this increase and demand the government immediately withdraw it,” it said.

The resolution further said this step had also showed that the PTI had no programme for taking the country forward. “The PTI government is being fully exposed,” the resolution added.

Hamza said the previous PML-N government had taken strong measures to control inflation and price hike.
