KHAIRPUR: Artists of Khairpur under the banner of the All Sindh Sangeetkaar Association protested in front of the local press club on Tuesday against alleged police torture on a woman singer and representative of association’s women’s wing, Saima Manzoor, and her musicians belonging to Naushahro Feroze.

Speaking on the occasion, local artists Dilshad Samo, Ruksana Sorath, Mohammad Nawaz Samo, Inayat Buriro, Rehana Rani, Shabana Koyal and others condemned the incident.

They demanded of the Sindh police IG, Naushahro Feroze SSP and Moro DSP for removal of the SHO and head constable of the police station concerned, who were involved in the incident. They also demanded that the cash snatched from the artists should be returned to them.

They threatened to launch a protest movement if the demand was not fulfilled.

They said artists were ambassadors of peace and they would not tolerate such injustice.
