SWABI: Speakers at a programme here on Monday said that late Nisar Mohammad Khan would remain the shining star of the Pashto language due to his immense and valuable contribution to its development.

They were speaking at the rabita (contact) programme of Ghandhara Union of Journalists on ‘Nisar Mohammad Khan and his valuable services and contributions to Pashto language, music and film’.

They paid glowing tribute to Mr Nisar for his matchless services to the Pashto language, culture, music, drama and film, saying he was in fact owner of diverse character.

They said noted playwright and broadcaster always remained stuck with his work, productive ideas, approach and focused on delivering according to the requirements of the environment.

Nisar Mohammad passed away a few days ago after a protracted illness at 76.

The main thrust of the speakers was the contribution he made to the Pashto dramas, film and music because he had worked in an extremely difficult period when all the activities were carried out with ordinary resources and manpower.

“Nisar’s amazing contribution to the Pakhtuns and their language would keep him alive. I am proud over that. True, he is no longer among us but his deeds have inserted his personality and character in our minds and hearts,” said Mohammad Jamil Advocate, a columnist.

Dr Mohammad Jasim, patron-in-chief of literary body, Qam Qalam, said Swabi’s soil had produced many prominent Pashto figures and Nisar was prominent among them.

Nural Amin Yousafzai, who has written several books, said his presentation was highly attractive and splendid. “He was an imposing personality due to his knowledge, skill and politeness and the way he talked,” he said.

ECONOMIC ZONE: National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaisar said on Monday that Prime Minister Imran Khan would soon announce establishment of a parliamentary committee to probe the opposition’s allegations of rigging in the July 25 general elections.

Addressing a gathering at Marghuz and later talking to Swabi Electronic Media Association, he said the committee would have complete powers to investigate the opposition allegations.

However, he said the July 25 elections were free and fair but despite that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf would investigate the issue to satisfy the opposition and jointly work for the country’s progress. He said under the China Pakistan Economic Cordelier a huge economic zone would be established at Rashaki Interchange on Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway.

“Wang Yi, the Chinese Foreign Minister, who met me at Islamabad during his recently concluded visit, had assured me about the establishment of the economic zone,” he added. He claimed that thousands of people would get jobs in different sections of the economic zone, enabling them to earn their livelihood with dignity and honour.
