RAWALPINDI: Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmeen Rashid on Wednesday told doctors at the three government-run hospitals in Rawalpindi to improve their bedside manner and that the government will not tolerate negligence in the provision of treatment.
She visited Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH) and Holy Family Hospital (HFH) and inspected various wards. Rawalpindi Medical University (RMU) Vice Chancellor Dr Mohammad Umar, BBH Medical Superintendent (MS) Dr Khalid Randhawa, HFH MS Dr Shahzad Ahmed and other professors also accompanied her.
The minister said: “The government will provide maximum funds to hospitals as Prime Minister Imran Khan wants to improve health facilities on a priority basis.”
She directed RMU to establish a special counter for public complaints so they are resolved on a priority basis. The minister added that the health department will also look into these complaints to make sure they are addressed on time.
She said government hospitals will be made model health facilities and will provide all kinds of treatments to poor patients without hurdles.
