LAHORE: Hundreds of books were reduced to ashes when a shop at Urdu Bazaar’s Rajpoot Market caught fire on Tuesday.

Shopkeepers alerted police and Rescue 1122 after they saw dense smoke in the market. However, the fire engulfed the entire shop before the rescue team undertook the job.

Police said the firefighters took two hours or so to control the blaze which reduced all the books in the shop to ashes.

ACCIDENT: A youngster was killed when a trailer hit him on his motorcycle in Nawab Town on Tuesday.

According to police, Murad was going to market when the trailer hit him.He suffered multiple injuries that proved fatal.

Passersby caught the driver and handed him over to police.

INJURED: A teenager allegedly shot at and injured his neighbour while playing in the street on Tuesday.

Police said Zohaib, 13, and Tayyab, 12, scuffled over a minor issue while playing in the street. Zohaib went to his home and brought pistol of his father and shot at Tayyab.

Tayyab was taken to hospital. Police registered a case against the suspect.
