GUJRAT, June 11: Three people of a family were allegedly shot dead by their rivals while returning home after their acquittal in a murder case near Mohla Langrial village, Jalalpur Jattan, on Saturday. Reports said that Mian Khan, his son Sajid Hussain and a close relative, Jabran, were nominated in an FIR at the complaint of one Tanvir whose brother was killed last year in Hanjra village. A session court, however, acquitted the accused due to lack of evidence.

The acquitted men were returning home on a motorcycle (GTA-9238) when their rivals, who had been chasing them in a car, opened fire on them, killing all three. The attackers escaped.

Sadar police handed over the bodies to the heirs after autopsy.

A case was registered against Riaz Shah, his sons, Ejaz Shah, Sajjad Shah, Yasir Shah, Nazir, his son Shabbir, Nasir and two unidentified men at the complaint of Jabran’s father Mohammad Aslam.

NO ARREST: Kharian Sadar police have failed to arrest the nominated accused of Dheenda group who had allegedly shot dead ten people of their rival Warriachanwala group about two days ago outside the district and sessions court.

The police had registered a case against 26 accused and six unidentified people. The victims’ families complained that the police were taking little interest in arresting the accused.
