LAHORE: A woman was killed during a celebratory fire in Badami Bagh on Monday.

Initial police reports suggested that the incident occurred at Khokhar Road where the participants in the wedding procession resorted to aerial firing.

A bullet hit Maria who was standing on the rooftop of her home and she died instantly, the police said adding that the suspects fled the scene shortly after the family alerted the police.

The body was shifted to the city morgue for autopsy after registration of case.

SHOT DEAD: Four armed men allegedly shot dead their sister and her husband over some family disputes here on Monday.

The police said suspects Kamran, Shani, Umar and Awais were unhappy over the marriage of their sister Nida with deceased Tanveer Ahmad.

Both sides had scuffled many times on the issue, the police said adding that on the day of incident, the suspects visited the residence of their sister and opened indiscriminate fire after exchanging hot words with Tanveer.

Resultantly, Nida and her husband suffered multiple injuries while the assailants fled the scene.

Both were taken to hospital where Tanveer succumbed to his wounds while his wife was said to be critical.

The police lodged a case against the suspects and shifted the body for autopsy.

ACCIDENT: A woman and her minor daughter died after a speedy car hit their bike in Kahna.

The police said Irfan was taking his sister-in-law Salma and her daughter Noor Fatima (9) to a market on the motorbike.

As soon as he reached the Ferozpur Road, a car hit the bike, leaving all the three injured. They were rushed to hospital where Salma and her daughter succumbed to their injuries, the police said adding Irfan was said to be critical.

The police lodged a case against the unidentified car rider who fled the scene along with his four-wheeler.
