KASUR: A man died while another suffered serious injuries when a heavy branch of a roadside tree fell on them on Dipalpur Road near Skindarpura on Friday.

According to the Khadian police, Lahore Electric Supply Company officials were trimming the trees to keep them from high transmission wires.

Yaseen, a retired army officer, died at the scene, while Ali suffered multiple injuries.

Rescue 1122 rushed Ali to the Kasur District Headquarters Hospital from where he was referred to Lahore because of his life-threatening injuries.

Police are looking into the matter.

Separately, electrician Muhammad Zahid, of Hinjrai Kalan village, was electrocuted at his workplace. The family refused legal formalities.
