Pakistan women’s netball team named for Asian event

KARACHI: Pakistan Netball Federation (PNF) on Friday named the national women’s netball team for participation in the Asian Women Netball Championship 2018 which is to be held at Singapore from Sept 1-9.

This is also the qualifying round for the Netball World Cup, to be held at Liverpool, UK in July 2019. Top two teams from the event will qualify for the Cup.

The team comprises Quratul Ain (Captain), Nayab Razia (Vice Captain), Anum Salam, Kashia Asif, Sumbal Zehra, Asma Akram, Hina Rafique, Shabana Moin, Sakina Shabbir and Yusra Shoaib. Shazia Yousaf is the coach of the team.

Pakistan Women netball team arrived at Singapore on Friday morning and immediately went into a practice session.

Pakistan team will play its first match against Singapore on Sunday, Sept 2 while on Monday, the team will take on Brunei.
