PESHAWAR: A police gunman of a Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly lawmaker was injured when an unknown attacker opened fire on him on Monday night, police said.

SSP operations Peshawar Javed Iqbal said that the incident took place on Ring Road near Abasin University, where the MPA from PK-76 Asif Khan had gone to offer Fateha. He said a lone assailant opened fire on the guard inside a hujra with a pistol and escaped from the scene.

He said that the guard was in good condition.
