KARACHI: Karachi Basketball Club overcame a stiff challenge from strong Nishter Club to win 63-35 and reach the final of the KBBA Independence Day basketball tournament at the Arambagh courts here on Monday.

In the other semifinal, Omega Club got a walkover against Bounce Club which could not take the field due to injuries to its four key players.

For Karachi basketball club, Raj Kumar Lakhwani was in great form scoring 19 points while he was well supported by Talal Ahmed (14 points), Fazeel Ahmed (13 points) and Akmal Jameel (10 points). For Nishter Club, Talha Amjad with 16 points displayed superb game.

Senior Director KMC Khurshid Shah was the chief guest on the occasion and distributed the prizes among teams and players.
