KARACHI: In order to create awareness of cleanliness among people, the Pakistan Navy conducted a beach cleaning campaign at Seaview on Sunday with the PN officers as well as students of Bahria colleges.

The participants removed debris, including plastic items, bottles, polythene bags etc from the beach.

To boost the morale of the participants, some well-known sports personalities also participated in the campaign.

At the conclusion of the event, Commander of Karachi Rear Admiral Asif Khaliq expressed his views about marine ecology and how it was in danger due to adverse impacts of pollution.

He said it was the responsibility of citizens to reclaim the environment by avoiding plastic pollution and maximise tree plantation.

The Navy chief planted a sapling in the Nishan-i-Pakistan park.
