PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has notified four-tier service structures for lady health workers and account supervisors of the health department.

A notification issued from the regulation wing of the finance department said that posts of the LHWs and account supervisors were being ungraded in light of the Supreme Court ruling.

About 12,265 LHWs were working sans a proper structure in BPS-5. However, under the new four-tier structure, LHWs would be promoted to senior LHWs of BS-7, chief health lady worker (CHLW) of the BS-9 and (PLHW) principal lady health worker.

The notification said 4,095 LHWs would still be in BPS-5, while 3,680 of them would be placed in senior LHW, 2,452 CHLW and 1,227 PLHW categories.

The account supervisors would be placed in BPS-7, senior account supervisors in BPS-9, chief account supervisors in BPS-11 and principal account supervisors in BPS-19, respectively. Drivers have been upgraded from BPS-4 to BPS-6, the notification said.
