ISLAMABAD: Robbers looted cash and valuables in more than 10 strikes in capital, police SAID on Thursday.

In the first incident six armed men entered a house in Bharia Town Phase II and held the housemaids at gunpoint and looted cash and valuables.

In the meantime the residents returned home and started shouting for help. The culprits also held them at gunpoint and shortly locked them in a room and escaped with the booty.

According to Shaikh Mushtaq Ahmed, the robbers looted cash, gold ornaments along with valuables and households worth Rs2million.

Four persons robbed a cable network office of Rs166,000 at gunpoint in Shakrial.Two armed persons raided a general store and made off with Rs70,000 in cash. The incident took place in the area of Bhandar village, located in Sihala.

Furthermore, some burglars broke into the house of Naveed Khalid in F-10/2 and stole cash and valuables worth Rs2 million. The culprits entered the house after cutting the window grill of a bathroom. Moreover, gold ornaments worth Rs350,000 was stolen from the house of Mohammad Ishaq, a government official, in Korang Town.

In another robbery, four armed men intercepted Mohammad Asif at G-6 Markaz and held him at gunpoint. Later, the culprits snatched cash and mobile worth thousands of rupees from him and escaped.

In another incident some thieves struck at the house of Nuzhat Fatma in Alipur and made off with gold and silver ornaments worth thousands of rupees.

Motorcycles of Yasir Hamid, Ijaz Ahmed, Amir Farooq and Mohammad Arshad were lifted from different areas of the city.
