MULTAN: The Lahore High Court, Multan bench, on Monday issued a notice to the National Accountability Court (NAB) and summoned record regarding the probe being conducted against former medical superintendent of Nishtar Hospital Dr Abdul Rehman Qureshi.

Dr Qureshi through his counsel Chaudhry Sagheer Ahmed and Tahir Mehmood said an inquiry is being conducted by the NAB at the behest of his predecessor on baseless allegations.

He stated that during his tenure all the appointments in the hospital were made through a board but the NAB authorities started inquiries against him while taking the record of appointments into its custody without any legal justification and were [allegedly] harassing him.

The court issued notices to the respondents and fixed hearing for Aug 16.
