QUETTA, Jan 9: Balochistan Governor Amirul Mulk Mengal on Wednesday said the government is establishing monitoring committees in the province to keep an eye on the use of development funds and implementation of projects.

Speaking to the opposition Nazims and Naib Nazims of Nasirabad district here, he urged treasury and opposition benches to work for the success of the district government system.

He said local bodies’ commission would also be set up in the province soon for addressing people’s complaints and resolving conflicts. He said the government was taking all possible measures to overcome the affects of drought.

The governor said work was in progress on the Kachhi canal project and the provincial government had provided the required funds for the Reebi canal project.
