SOLAR eclipse will be seen in Pakistan on Saturday (today) from 1pm to 4pm. It will also be witnessed in Northern Europe, Northern Asia and parts of Eastern Asia.
The phenomenon occurs when the moon comes in between the Sun and the Earth.
If seen by the naked eye, the eclipse can damage the eyesight permanently. Even coloured glasses, unprotected camera, X-ray films, common telescopes and binoculars cannot provide protection to the eyes.
It is therefore advisable that we avoid looking towards the Sun during the eclipse and keep our children indoors.
