Burning schools

Published August 8, 2018

ONLY education can bring positive change in our country. On Aug 3, terrorists burnt down 12 schools in Diamer district in Gilgit-Baltistan. They also carried out bomb blasts in two of the schools. Half of the institutions that were torched were girls’ schools. This is proof that Pakistan’s enemies want to keep our country in darkness and ignorance.

An educated mother guarantees an enlightened and progressive nation. The world should know that the Pakistani people will never yield to terrorists’ diktat. We will rebuild these schools and we will educate our children. And, we will hunt down the perpetrators of these attacks and ensure that justice is meted out to these anarchists.

The government should build better schools to replace the destroyed institutions and also ensure terrorists are eradicated from Gilgit-Baltistan.
