Karachi police on Monday booked a presiding officer over charges of impersonation, forgery and cheating on the orders of a judge of City Courts, said City Zone SSP Dr Samiullah Soomro.

Police have invoked Sections 419, 420, 468, 471 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code against DMC West Zone official Waheedullah, who was appointed as the presiding officer of PS-93 and PS-95 in Korangi district.

Sharing details of the case, SSP Soomro said that Waheedullah did not appear for his election training and instead sent someone else in his place.

Another polling officer present there brought the matter to the judge’s notice, upon which the judge called Waheedullah and informed police about the matter.

Subsequently, police registered a case against Waheedullah over charges of impersonation, forgery and cheating.
