RAHIM YAR KHAN, June 4: Five children between six and nine years of age drowned in a pond while taking a dip at Mauza Surelly near here on Saturday. DSP Rana Shujaat said that Naeem, Malik Shah, Samina, Imtiaz and Ijaz were returning to their houses from a seminary. To beat the heat, they entered into a pond near an under-construction poultry farm.

Three of them drowned and died on the spot while two others died on their way to Sheikh Zayed Hospital.
