DG health raids medical stores

SANGHAR, June 4: The chairman, Task Force for Health, Sindh and the director general health, Sindh, Dr Hadi Bux Jatoi conducted surprise checking of about one dozen medical stores in Sanghar and sealed a number of them for violations. He was accompanied by federal drug inspector, Saifur Rehman, the EDO Health, Abdul Majeed Chhutto and others. He also directed the officials that the store owners should be challaned.

Later, speaking at a news conference at the local press club, Dr Jatoi said that he had raided 15 stores and detected some substandard medicines as well as veterinary medicines being sold in the stores.

He said cases would be registered against the delinquent medical store owners and warned the medical stores’ not to dispense medicines meant for animals to human beings and made it clear that no excuse will be accepted for such a heinous crime.

He also appealed to the public to demand cash memo for the purchase of medicines.
