In the run-up to poll day, all major political parties have upped their social media game and our readers think no differently.

Our election survey results reveal that nearly 59pc respondents see social media as a critical factor, with 28.96pc believing it will have a 'big impact' on the outcome of the elections.

Conversely, just over 55pc believe traditional media will influence how the elections will pan out, with only 22.95pc considering it to be a 'big impact' element.
