SWABI: Residents of various areas of Swabi suffered a lot because of suspension of electricity throughout the night between Tuesday and Wednesday as heavy rain lashed the district.

The consumers said it was responsibility of Peshawar Eclectic Supply Company to remove faults immediately and ensure smooth power supply as people paid their dues on time.

They regretted that power supply was suspended even if there was little rain. They deplored that the Pesco staff had utterly failed to perform their duties responsibly.

The residents said during the power blackout they suffered heavily due to mosquito bites. They said aged people and children were particularly disturbed and passed a sleepless night.

The consumers complained that the phone numbers at the Pesco’s complaint office always remained busy.

When contacted, local Pesco officials told this correspondent that the electricity supply had been restored at 8am on Wednesday thanks to strenuous efforts of the staffers to fix faults developed in transmission lines.
