HYDERABAD, June 3: Protest demonstrations on the call of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal were held in different parts of Sindh on Friday against terrorist attacks on the shrine of Bari Imam in Islamabad and the Madinatul Ilm mosque in Karachi and the assassination of Jamaat-i-Islami leaders Tahir Jamal and Aslam Mujahid.
In Hyderabad, the MMA and the Shia Ulema Council staged a protest rally at Gari Khata after Friday prayers.
Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Waheed Qureshi, Maulana Taj Mohammad Nahiyoon, Shaukat Ali Shaikh, Nizamul Hyderi, Mohammad Ibrahim Shaikh and others accused the Muttahida Qaumi Movement and President Gen Pervez Musharraf of patronizing terrorists.
Earlier, the Shia Ulema Council held a separate demonstration at Qadamgah Maula Ali.
NAWABSHAH: Activists of the Jamaat-i-Islami held a protest demonstration against the desecration of the Holy Quran, killing of party leaders and attacks on the Imam Bari shrine and the Madinatul Ilm mosque.
They alleged that the rulers were following the US agenda against Islam.
They regretted that the law and order situation in Karachi was worsening.
They demanded arrest of the killers of the party leaders and the people involved in the terrorist attacks in Islamabad and Karachi.
MIRPURKHAS: A demonstration was held by activists of the MMA outside the Madina Masjid here.
The protesters alleged that the MQM was involved in creating disturbance in Karachi and in killing of the MMA leaders.
They demanded arrest of the murderers of the party leaders.
JACOBABAD: Activists of the MMA took out a procession against the attacks on the mosque in Karachi and the Bari Imam shrine in Islamabad.
The protesters after marching through different roads reached at the press club where they staged a sit-in.
BADIN: Activists of the Jamaat-i-Islami took out a procession against the Sindh government for allegedly deteriorating the law and order situation in the province.
SHIKARPUR: A protest day was observed here against the desecration of the Holy Quran, killing of MMA leaders and bomb blasts at the Bari Imam shrine the Madinatul Ilm mosque.
