I WOULD like to draw the attention of the chairman of the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC). Recently, the body has conducted the screening test for the Combined Competitive Examination 2018 in three different regions: Sukkur, Larkana and Karachi.
In the test that was held on the 1st July, three answers were given incorrectly in the key uploaded by SPSC.
In the screening test paper type D, Question#2, ‘What punctuation mark is used between sentences grammatically independent but closely connected in the sense?’, the ‘colon’ is considered the right answer, but the correct answer is ‘semi-colon’.
Question#9: Which subject deals with the distribution of different races of Mankind?
‘Ethnography’ is the correct answer in the SPSC’s key, but according to the Merriam Webster Dictionary, ‘Ethnology’ is the right answer.
Question#12: Synthetic milk — real milk in all — except taste and nutritional qualities.
In the SPSC’s key, Option D i.e Mimics, is the correct answer, but the right answer is option A, i.e resembles.
The SPSC does not seem to have done proper research on the questions. It is playing with the future of hardworking candidates.
The chairman of the SPSC is requested to look into this matter.
