PESHAWAR: The police have found the body of a young girl in Pawaka area here.

According to Pishtakhara police officials, the victim was shot dead by unknown persons for the reasons yet not known to police. The body was recovered on Friday evening.

The girl aged 19 is a resident of Tehkal area. She had been an ice addict.

A police official said the family of the girl had not nominated anyone in the FIR.

It is worth mentioning here that the residents of Hayatabad had complained to the police in January 2018 that a drug addict girl was roaming and crying in the streets.

Acting on the complaint, the police had handed her over to the women crisis centre, where she remained for sometimes.

ASP Hayatabad Waqar Kharal told mediapersons that she was released from the crisis centre on surety of his father. “She was an ice addict,” he further said. Investigation was underway to find the killers, he said.
