A MASSIVE spell of rain has lashed Lahore. Such a torrential downpour brings about devastation, where ever in the world it hits. Last year deadly floods brought devastation to Livorno in Italy.

However, our electronic media has flamed uproar on the news channels by blaming the government for the inundation in some parts of the metropolis. For the last two days, the news channels have been broadcasting speculation that the inundation was caused by the flawed policies of the previous government.

The parade of havoc on the news and blaming the government begets hatred for the system. It is just as necessary to depict the services rendered by the state. Unfortunately, our electronic media depicts the flaws committed by the state, but never takes an active part when it comes to showing the good services of the government.

The electronic media must play its role in bringing both aspects to the forefront, rather than being inclined towards only exhibiting the flawed aspects.
