A student of chartered accountancy in Karachi committed suicide on Thursday evening after he reportedly did not achieve desirable results in his recently-held examinations, police said.

Sabur, 21, shot himself in his home in Block 19 of Gulistan-e-Jauhar, said Gulshan SP Ghulam Murtaza Bhutto.

Relatives took away his body to the Aga Khan University Hospital, the officer added.

Initial probe revealed that Sabur was reportedly upset over the result he obtained in an exam for chartered accountancy, which may have been the possible reason that led him to end his life, SP Bhutto said.

Police are investigating the case to further ascertain the facts, the officer added.
