SARGODHA: The forensic audit team of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) sealed the offices of over 17 housing societies in Sargodha functioning illegally, and directed the developers concerned to stop sale of plots/houses.

The team also sought registration of criminal case against the developers and private colonies for violating Punjab Private Housing Schemes act 2010 and fleecing people. They also stopped the publicity of all these housing schemes. This was disclosed here on Tuesday in a meeting presided over by deputy director of the audit team.

The team also initiated proceedings against Canal View schemes in Bhalwal and closed the offices of New Bhera City and Ideal City Bhera.

The meeting also directed that supply of electricity and gas to the said housing schemes should be suspended.

The forensic team also decided to complete the audit of all housing societies launched in Sargodha district and hold another meeting to prepare and recommend action against the illegal societies.
