SUKKUR, May 31: A report determining the causes of the unrest among prisoners of the central jail-I and II, Sukkur, has been completed, sources said. Inquiry officers have also recorded the statements of the prisoners and the jail staff.

The Additional Inspector General Prisons, Sindh, Ashiq Memon and the Executive Officer, Munawwar Ali, arrived Sukkur and recorded the statements of both the prisoners and the jail staff of the two prisons.

The inquiry mostly focuses on snatching of cash and valuables from the prisoners during the two search operations. On the other hand, it was decided to dismiss the two jail officials who included, Menhoo Khan Chachar and Ghulam Haider Shahani for violating the forces discipline.

The DIG Prisons, Sindh, Maj (Retd) Ghulam Hussain Khoso, also suspended Irfan Pirzada, clerk of the central jail-I, and brother of suspended jailer Liaqat Pirzada besides banning his entry in the jail premises.
