PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz has tried to allay the impression that her father, former PM Nawaz Sharif, might not return to Pakistan from the UK to campaign for next month's elections.

Maryam while speaking to reporters in London said she and Sharif will "immediately" return to the country as soon as her mother Kulsoom is out of a critical state.

Asked about her plans to fight the July 25 poll, Maryam, an aspirant for Lahore's NA-125, said now was not the time to think about elections or politics.

While giving an update on her mother's health, she said Kulsoom, who is currently on life support, had suffered a relapse due to an infection after improving slightly last week.
