SHANGLA: A jirga of Gujjar community from Allai tehsil of Battagram district held here on Sunday decided to support only those candidates who would assure them about the provision of education and other facilities in their PK-28 constituency.

People from various parts of Allai, the district headquarters of Battagram, attended the jirga held at Shang Bisham. The jirga also formed a committee named ‘Gujjar Qaumi Ittehad’ to fight for the community rights.

Haji Bakas and Haji Kishwar were appointed as president and general secretary of the committee.

“We will have to unite for claiming our basic rights and will vote for those candidates who can provide us with education, health and communication facilities in the area,” Haji Bakas said.

On the occasion, Haji Kishwar said the Gujjar community would vote for those who would ensure provision of basic amenities to them.

The jirga also demanded of the political figures to fight for their rights.
