HYDERABAD, May 30: Former Vice-Chancellor Sindh Agriculture University Dr Abdul Qadir Ansari has stressed the need for introducing house job training programme in the university on the pattern of house job training given to medical graduates. He was speaking as chief guest at the convocation of the university in Tandojam on Saturday.

The Sindh governor was scheduled to preside over the convocation but he could not make it.

Dr Ansari called upon recipients of degrees that it was not easy to find a job in the market and stressed upon them to establish their own business as most of the students belonged to the farming community.

He said the trained students could produce more crops due to their expertise and play a positive role in the development of the agriculture sector.

He congratulated the students, who were conferred degrees of bachelors, masters and Ph.D in various disciplines.

Vice-chancellor Dr Bashir Ahmed Shaikh said the university had so far produced 13,957 graduates and 10,984 MSc’s in various disciplines of agriculture and animal sciences.

Besides, he said the university had also produced four MPhils and 31 PhD’s.

He said the university had experienced a progressive decline in students admissions during the past few years and it had no control on all the factors contributing to this trend.
