KHAR: The security forces on Wednesday claimed to have foiled a terrorism bid in Bajaur by seizing a big cache of weapons during an operation in Mamond tehsil.

Officials told mediapersons here that the search operation was carried out following a tip-off in Gabari Mar area, located along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

They said that a big cache of weapons, including rocket shells, rockets launchers, explosive devices, remote-controlled bombs, hand grenades, bomb making material and hundreds of cartridges, were seized during the action conducted by security officials.

They said that most of the weapons were recovered from underground places.

They said that according to their information the weapons were to be used for terrorism during Eid days.

However, the officials said that investigation was under way to find out the elements behind storing of weapons and arms in the area. They said that the local people also supported the security forces during the search operation.
