KARACHI: Mrs Rafiunnisa Majeed, wife of the former Karachi Table Tennis Asssociation (KTTA) secretary late Majeed Khan and mother of two-time SAF Games gold medallist Arif Khan died in Texas, US, on Thursday after protracted illness. She was in late 80s.

According to family sources, the deceased was suffering from cancer which has fastly spread in her body during the last six months. She was laid to rest in the US.

She is survived by seven sons and four daughters. Besides Arif, his two other sons Mehboob and Sohail have also donned Pakistan senior and junior colours respectively.

Majeed Khan, who died in 2001, was the first individual who raised funds and help built Islamia Club indoor gymnasium, first in the private sector in the country.

Meanwhile, Quran Khwani for the departed soul will be held at Islmia Club on Saturday between Asr and Maghrib prayers.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Table Tennis Federation (PTTF) President S. M. Sibtain has condoled the death of the deceased.
