KARACHI, May 28: The anti-narcotics force arrested five drug smugglers and recovered 1,000kg hashish and 2kg heroin powder in separate raids. ANF Commander received an information that a huge quantity of narcotics was about to be smuggled. Special teams were constituted to foil such attempt. A special team, headed by Lt Col Mohammad Khizar Ilyas, arrested Imran Ameen, Jahanzeb Khan and Ghulam Ali from Honda VTI car near Ayesha Manzil and recovered 150kg hashish from secret cavities of the car.

Following the arrests, the accused disclosed that they were planning to smuggle hashish abroad, lying at a godown in F.B Area. They led the ANF party to godown situated at Bhangoria Goth wherefrom Hasal, a companion of the accused, was arrested and 850kg hashish was recovered.

The ANF also recovered 2kg heroin from a foreigner, Azeez Abdulahi, at the airport. —PPI
