QUETTA: Speaker Raheela Hameed Durrani did not preside over the last session of the Balochistan Assembly on Thursday as a protest against the uproar during the session on Wednesday.

Members of the opposition Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party had exchanged hot words with Home Minister Sarfaraz Ahmed Bugti.

Mr Bugti pointed out that the speaker did not preside over the session due to unpleasant incident that took place in the house the other day.

Assembly officials confirmed to Dawn that Speaker Durrani did not attend the session as a protest against the unpleasant incident and wrong attitude of opposition members.

Once again uproar was witnessed in the house and some harsh words were exchanged between Sarfaraz Bugti and PkMAP members. However, Yasmin Lehri controlled the situation and continued the proceedings.

The session continued till late in the night.
